Different guitarists and music enthusiasts have different definitions for vintage guitars. Some consider guitars that are only 20 or 30 years old to be vintage -- this means guitars manufactured as late as the early-mid 2000s. Others consider much older guitars -- like those hailing from the 1970s and 1980s -- to be authentic vintage guitars. Whether you're someone who was rocking out in the 70s and 80s yourself, or if you just have an old soul and a taste for older music, you might fall into the latter camp. If you're looking for an older vintage guitar and are hoping to get a great deal on it, you've come to the right place -- at Hilltop Pawn, we'd love to help you get a great deal on a vintage guitar.

We Buy & Sell Popular Guitars from the 1970s
The Fender Stratocaster and the Gibson Les Paul are two popular electric guitars that were first introduced to the world in the 1950s by their respective manufacturers. In the 1970s, these two guitars remained highly popular among musicians from all different genres. However, a few other guitars were popular in these years, too. Japanese-made guitars like guitars by Ibanez and Yamaha became popular in the United States during this era. Although the Les Paul was and has always been their most popular instrument, Gibson also had some other favorites in the 1970s, namely the SG and the ES-335. Among heavy metal musicians, B.C Rich guitars became quite popular as well, and they were notable because of their distinctive shapes. As far as acoustic guitars go, Gibson and Martin guitars were some of the most popular during this era.
1980s Vintage Guitars & Beyond
Fender Stratocasters and Gibson Les Paul guitars still remained popular in the 1980s...and they're still in production and incredibly popular to this day! During this time period, "superstrats," which were Stratocaster-like guitars modified for 1980s rock and metal music, became very popular. Suddenly, modifications like humbuckers and locking tremolos were in heavy favor. Kramer, Jackson, and Charvel guitars became very popular, with Kramer being a heavily endorsed favorite of top stars like Eddie Van Halen and Kirk Hammett. Ibanez and B.C. Rich guitars remained in favor during this time period, too.
